The paxos system and paxos compact high security locks have been available on the market since 1988. They are widely used on vaults, security repositories and many high end security premises. Over a course of millions of operating hours, paxos has proven technology and reliability time and time again. Paxos advance is the logical enhancement of this reliable, tried and tested technology.
Paxos advance is the redundant, motorized lock for safes and vaults when it comes to providing maximum reliability ease to use, programming and installation. Taking the aviation industry as an example, all components relevant to security have been designed for redundant operation to guarantee full functionality at every time of day and night.
Where ever the highest demands are placed on security and reliability, any modules whose function is critical in event of a failure must be installed multiple times, or redundantly. To date, this type of redundancy has been used to successfully, and significantly, increase operational reliability within satellite technology, the aviation industry and the storage of security-relevant data. Redundant systems were implemented throughout the paxos advance to guarantee the highest possible level of security.
Full system redundancy means much more than doubling the security. The improbability of two self-contained systems failing at the same time provides a quantum leap when it comes to the availability of redundant units. The double system design used throughout the paxos advance provides extensive fault detection, and the highest possible chance of avoiding complete system failure.
When paxos advance detects a fault, it switches to the redundant part of the system ensuring the safe or vault can always be opened. The operator is in-formed about any faults detected. Whilst action can be taken to replace the faulty part, general business can proceed at the customer’s peace of mind. In addition, the detailed audit log allows precise conclusions to be drawn about the source of the fault, or of a possible security breach.
Based on the standard lock housing, paxos advance is able to be effectlessly intergrated into the most diverse locking mechanisms.
Paxos advance is the new, fully-redundant motorized lock powered by battery, mains power or UPS. The use of the optional I/O box allows paxos advance to be connected to alarm systems, and access control systems effortlessly. The serial USB interface simplifies and accelerates the programming of the system. this saves installation time and cost.
The redundant lock has been re-fined into a contact design and will retrofit mechanical safelocks foregoing additional drilling. Paxos advance uses encoded connection cables and a cabling structure that prevent incorrect hardware.
Paxos advance can be configured directly on-site using the unit or USB interface and software. Configuration is easy by utilising the software, and saving the file to copy from one system to another. Existing installations are also easy to enhance at a later date, regardless of number of additional locks or inner compartment locks, or additional alarm signals fitted.
The high-security locking system Paxos® advance can be adapted to individual requirements thanks to the system modularity.
The modular structure of the Paxos® advance allows the system to be harmonized with current or future requirements quickly and flexibly. From a simple single-lock system to fully-configured multiple-lock operation and connection to alarm and monitoring systems, the modular design makes it possible.
The intelligent redundant bus system allows locks, input units and I/O boxes tobe combined in any way. This facilitates individual system configuration and customer-specific programming using the programming software. We are also well aware that customer requirements can change over time. Paxos® advance is the solution when it comes to a longterm investment in maximum security.
The two tried-and-tested methods of input, keyboard and dial knob, were adopted from the Paxos® compact. The electronic system has been completely overhauled to allow the parallel use of several input units. The menu navigation is self-explanatory.
The size of the lock housing has been standardized. The attachment points were selected to make replacing both mechanical and Paxos® compact locks extremely easy. Despite its more compact design, the Paxos® advance lock is every bit as strong.
This important system component forms the link between Paxos® advance and external systems. Configurable inputs and outputs, and an additional serial audit log interface, round off the variety of features provided by the I/O box.
The powerful programming software AS 354 allows the complete Paxos® advance system to be configured automatically. Once it has been configured, all lock parameters can be set using the same software. The AS 354 makes an impression with its consistently logical and intuitive menu navigation.
The various system components in the Paxos® advance can be automatically imported and configured using the programming software. The configuration can be displayed as a diagram to provide the installer with a fast overview. Additional components can be added or deleted. The AS 354 ensures all components are installed correctly at all times, providing invaluable assistance for on-site installation.
A further advantage of the Paxos® advance is the flexible role allocation for the various user code levels. The administration of these authorization levels is given optimum support from the programming software. The authorizations set can be displayed, and be exported, in a clearly laid-out table, thereby allowing them to be imported into other systems in the future.
Paxos® advance saves all security-relevant processes, changes to the system and fault statuses in its non- volatile event memory. This provides detailed, chronological audit of the events performed at any time. The AS 354 supports all the user options standard today, such as filtering for users and events, exporting the data in a variety of formats, and extensive analysis functions. This guarantees that no attempts to open or manipulate the system remain unnoticed.
When the technology platform for the Paxos® advance was chosen, special focus was placed on being able to adapt and enhance the system quickly and effectively in response to the trends evolving from the security sector at a later date. Opting for Paxos® advance means investing in a clever and cost effective adaptable system.
The customer feedback collected over the last 15 years has been carefully analyzed and evaluated, allowing it to make a valuable contribution to the development of Paxos® advance. From the beloved menu navigation for the input unit to the automatic configuration of any component connected, existing Paxos® compact customers will quickly find themselves familiar with the new system without the need for additional training.
Paxos® advance is fast and easy to program and requires little effort thanks to the user-friendly programming and installation software via USB. The log data are reprocessed to provide more detailed information, and are available in the most widespread formats for statistical analysis. More detailed information on the functions and technical options provided are explained in a fact sheet, available separately.
